ServiceScale Academy
We Don't Just Teach Service Businesses. We've Built Them.
ServiceScale Academy was founded by Tyler Tennyson and Tim Nguyen after years of building, operating, and scaling service businesses using systems, technology, and local contractors.

The Origin
From $0 to $100,000+ Per Month
Long before ServiceScale Academy, Tyler and Tim came from completely different professional backgrounds.
Tyler began his career in the insurance industry, developing a foundation in sales, marketing, and customer acquisition. Tim also spent time in insurance before working in software and technology, where he developed experience with the systems and technology that would later become an important part of how they built businesses.
Eventually, they decided they wanted to build something of their own.
That decision led them into the home-service industry.
Tyler and Tim originally started by building their own residential and commercial cleaning company. But they didn't want to build a traditional cleaning company where they personally cleaned homes, managed employees in an office, or spent every day in the field.
Instead, they built the company around a different model:
- Customer acquisition
- Systems
- Processes
- Technology
- Local contractors
- Remote management
The goal was to build a real service business that could be managed remotely while qualified local professionals handled the actual fulfillment.
It worked.
In less than a year, they grew from $0 to more than $100,000 per month in revenue. Over the following few years, their businesses generated more than $3 million in revenue, while Tyler and Tim continued refining the systems behind customer acquisition, sales, estimating, contractor management, fulfillment, and day-to-day operations.
But building the businesses themselves was only the beginning.
The System
Turning the Model Into a System
As their companies grew, other entrepreneurs began asking how they were doing it. That eventually led Tyler and Tim to begin teaching others how to build their own remotely managed service businesses.
Over the years, they've worked with numerous entrepreneurs and business owners, helping them understand and implement the same principles they had used themselves.
Through that experience, Tyler and Tim became deeply involved in virtually every part of building a remote service company:
- Generating customers
- Selling services
- Building pricing systems
- Finding and managing contractors
- Creating fulfillment processes
- Developing SOPs
- Implementing CRM and automation
- Tracking margins and job performance
- Building teams
- Creating businesses that don't require the owner to personally perform the service
What started with Remote Cleaning eventually expanded into a much broader understanding of how local service businesses can be built and operated using the right combination of people, processes, marketing, and technology.
The Opportunity
Then We Found Remote Painting
After years of experience in Remote Cleaning and other service industries, one opportunity began standing out: Painting.
The fundamental model was similar to what Tyler and Tim already knew extremely well:
- Generate local demand
- Estimate and sell the project
- Build reliable fulfillment
- Use qualified local painting crews to complete the work
- Manage the operation through systems and technology
But the economics were different.
Painting offered the potential for higher-ticket projects, attractive margins, less job volume required to generate meaningful revenue, and an established supply of experienced painting contractors in many markets.
Instead of needing a large number of smaller jobs, a painting business can generate substantial revenue from a much smaller number of higher-value projects.
For Tyler and Tim, it represented a natural evolution of everything they had learned building remote service businesses. So they went deeper.
The Infrastructure
Building the Infrastructure Behind It
One of the biggest lessons Tyler and Tim learned over the years was that growth alone isn't enough. A service business needs infrastructure behind it.
That's why they've invested heavily in developing the systems and technology used to manage their operations. They've even developed their own internal software to help organize critical parts of the business and create a smoother operating system around customers, jobs, scheduling, communication, financial visibility, and fulfillment.
The objective is simple: make the business easier to operate as it grows.
ServiceScale isn't built around a theory of how a service business might work. It's based on systems developed through actually operating these businesses.
The Team
Meet the Founders

Tyler Tennyson
Co-Founder
Tyler's background began in insurance and sales before transitioning into entrepreneurship and the home-service industry.
His primary focus has been customer acquisition, sales, offers, marketing, business development, and growth.
After helping build their original Remote Cleaning operation from zero to more than $100,000 per month, Tyler became heavily involved in teaching other entrepreneurs how to apply the same remote-service principles to businesses of their own.
Today, his focus at ServiceScale is continuing to refine the customer-acquisition and growth systems behind the Remote Painting model.

Tim Nguyen
Co-Founder
Tim brings a background spanning insurance, software, technology, systems, and business operations.
His strength has always been turning complicated operational problems into repeatable processes.
As their service businesses grew, Tim became heavily involved in developing the systems behind estimating, operations, contractor management, fulfillment, technology, and scalability.
That operational experience now forms a major part of the infrastructure and implementation support behind ServiceScale Academy.
Our Why
Why ServiceScale Academy Exists
ServiceScale Academy represents the evolution of everything Tyler and Tim have learned from building service businesses over the past few years.
They've experienced the problems that come with growth.
For a long time, their Remote Painting systems weren't available publicly. Access was primarily offered to people who had previously worked with Tyler and Tim through their Remote Cleaning programs and existing network.
As results began coming in and more people started asking about the painting model, the demand became difficult to ignore. So they made a decision.
